Austin and its partners completed the $400 million Sacramento International Airport Terminal B program four months ahead of schedule and under budget. The project involved demolishing and renovating 100,000 square feet and constructing 433,000 square feet of new space, including an APM station, check-in counter, in-line baggage handling system, complex mechanical and electrical systems, communication/wayfinding, and pedestrian bridges with associated roadways. The team implemented Lean Construction Practices and Building Information Modeling, achieved LEED Silver Certification, and delivered a public art program enhancing the guest experience. Significant milestones included winning the CAL Sharp Safety Award from OSHA and the John L. Martin Partnered Project of the Year Award from the International Partnering Institute.
