Austin and its partners completed the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) program, the largest project ever awarded in Los Angeles. Delivered 100% airside at a 24/7 operating facility, the program included 300,000 square feet of renovation and 1,000,000 square feet of new construction. The West Gate opened 15 gates, nine of which accommodate Airbus A380 aircraft, and included vertical transportation, baggage handling systems, a central utility plant, and extensive underground utilities. Austin also designed and built the rental car facility with 3,621 ready/return spaces, a multi-level quick turnaround area, and an automated people mover (APM) system connecting the main terminal to the rental car center and economy parking garage.
