Austin Bridge & Road is delivering the reconstruction of the I-635 and U.S. 80 Interchange, a major mobility and safety improvement for one of North Texas’ most traveled corridors. The project will enhance regional connectivity by creating a more efficient system-to-system link between two critical highways.
The work includes the construction of eight new direct-connector bridges, replacing four existing flyovers and adding four additional connectors to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. The project also incorporates the widening of I-635 and the western segment of U.S. 80, along with the full reconstruction of U.S. 80 from Town East Boulevard to S.H. 352 (Belt Line Road). These improvements support new ramp and bridge alignments designed to increase capacity and better accommodate long-term growth in the area.
In addition to bridge and roadway upgrades, the project features substantial earthwork, concrete and asphalt paving, and new retaining wall systems. In total, the effort spans 25 bridges and introduces a modernized interchange configuration that will serve drivers, businesses, and communities well into the future.
