Austin Commercial actively uses virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology to perform design review and production tracking, confirm scope installation, and verify the as-built install. VR has proven valuable in helping us understand and respond to a proposed design and how it could affect a given space or end-user experience. AR affords our project teams the ability to see the actual field condition overlaid with the current or proposed modeled condition to verify the install location of structural or design elements as well as MEPFP content. We believe this technology will expedite the traditional RFI process and as-built verification process, creating quicker decision making to facilitate the delivery of the project.
