Ericsson contracted Austin Commercial to develop and construct Ericsson Village, the telecommunication company’s North American Headquarters on a 34-acre green field site in Plano, Texas. Ericsson’s 500,000-square-foot headquarters includes three buildings with connecting walkways. Buildings A and B are four-level, concrete-frame structures, consisting of core elevator lobbies, electrical room, mechanical rooms, intermediate distribution frame (IDF) rooms, rest rooms and corridors, along with finish-out areas that house break rooms, work areas, conference rooms, a café, hard wall offices and open office space for modular furniture. Building C is three levels and is partially structural steel. It houses a servery/dining area, data center, auditorium, conference rooms and the main central plant area. The site development consisted of the installation of all infrastructure, including storm drainage, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire protection, communications and electrical power.
