Gruene Road Bridge

In 1910, Austin Brothers Co. built the historical Gruene Road Bridge over the Guadalupe River. Since the bridge was almost a century old, Austin Bridge & Road was chosen to construct the new Gruene Road Bridge which consisted of demolishing the existing bridge; rebuilding it wider and higher.

The project was completed in two phases utilizing a port-a-dam system to keep the water out of the work area. Austin built new approaches that included four drill shaft retaining walls. New utility lines were installed under the new bridge and are supported by hangers that were cast into the bridge slab.
