"What we’re looking for in an intern is passion for the work. We want these candidates to be self-starters. We want them to have a great work ethic. And, most of all, we want them to love what they’re doing."

John Shine, Sr. Vice President, Austin Bridge & Road

Each year, Austin Industries seeks college-level students for our highly respected summer internship program. A paid internship at Austin Industries is a chance to gain intensive hands-on job-site experience directly from project managers and superintendents who run multimillion-dollar construction projects. An internship at Austin also helps when it comes to employment post-college, as we have an active college recruitment program and place a high value on construction internship experience.

We look for students who demonstrate the character, work ethic, and desire to create a career in the construction industry. Candidates for paid internships should be in a construction- or engineering-related degree program and demonstrate interest in making construction their career choice. Summer placements run from late May to early August. Participation is for the full 12 weeks of the program.

What our interns have to say...

  • Within these past couple of weeks, I’ve grasped more information than I would sitting in a class for a whole semester. This was truly a valuable experience.
