Integrity is the foundation upon which we build everything else. Our success relies on continued integrity in all we do: among the employee-owners we work with, on the projects we build together and in the communities we serve.
Trust, honesty, reliability, fairness and accountability are all facets of Austin’s core value of integrity.
Every employee-owner has the power and the moral obligation to stop work if they see something unsafe. In addition to physical safety, part of a safe culture is interpersonal safety. Employee-owners can trust one another with their physical lives, but they can also trust one another to treat them with dignity.
Having integrity in service means that Austin employee-owners will serve everyone we come in contact with, regardless of whether it is obviously advantageous to do so. We believe that it is better to give than to receive. Being an Austin employee-owner means that we come into every interaction, not to be served, but to serve.
It may seem redundant to say that Austin employee-owners have integrity in integrity, but at Austin we expect everyone to do the right thing, all the time, regardless of who is looking. Having integrity means being trustworthy, honest, reliable, fair, and accountable.
Being an employee-owner means that everything we do has our name on it. Part of being a member of the Austin family means that every decision we make has an impact on every other member of our family. Without integrity in employee-ownership, the whole family suffers. We are honored to be able to say, “I am Austin."
