Austin Industries places a premium on embracing and supporting diversity and is dedicated to growing Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) firms. The award-winning Austin Industries Mentor/Protégé Program, for example, works with minority-owned, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses to help advance their initiatives through best practices, networking and opportunities to work with Austin Industries.

M/WBE firms participate in seminars that address such topics as contracts, insurance and bonding, bid and award processes, administrative and site logistics, how to get paid, lien rights and claims avoidance, safety, marketing, and technology. Austin Industries enters into joint ventures, partnerships and staff augmentation with M/WBE firms and encourages minority purchasing by prime subcontractors and vendors. Austin Industries also helps under-capitalized M/WBE firms with innovative cash management strategies.

More than 300 firms mentored by Austin Industries have received contracts exceeding $1 million. Due to the overwhelming success of our Dallas-area program, the program has been implemented at offices in other areas of operation including Austin and Phoenix.
