Green Initiative

As a corporate citizen, Austin Industries is committed to good stewardship of the natural environment, the most indispensable supplier. We have an obligation to protect and preserve the environment while projects are under construction, and are dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for continued impact on the environment.

Austin Industries partners with communities in its areas of operation to provide solutions that protect the environment. For example, Austin Bridge & Road’s partnership with the State of Texas replaces, retires or renovates old equipment to improve negative environmental impact. And, Austin Commercial can consult customers based on its experience with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Additionally, Austin Industrial’s refinery work aims to lower the sulfur content in diesel fuels and produce cleaner burning gasoline.

In 2007, Austin was ranked among the top U.S. based contractors according to Engineering News-Record’s list of Green Contractors. Engineering News-Record ranks publicly and privately held contractors based on construction revenue for projects that have been registered or certified by third-party organizations as following specific environmental, energy-savings or sustainability standards. Austin Industries is affiliated with the industry’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) organization, and is prepared to make suggestions to customers regarding sustainable initiatives whether the project is seeking a LEED certification or not. We have many LEED Accredited Professionals on staff to provide solutions for reducing the consumption of goods/materials and waste production.
