Description
The Albemarle PLUTO project was a fast-track reimbursable EPC contract for installation of a greenfield catalyst unit and retrofit of an existing catalyst unit. Austin's multi-disciplined scope of work included civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical/instrument crafts. Approximately 20 percent of the total work was performed in an operating unit environment, including mini-outages for tie-in work. Scope also included infrastructure upgrades of utility systems including chiller, cooling tower, and instrument air compressor. Significant material-handling and instrumentation scope, including Austin assistance in plant start-up and turnover. Project peaked at 350 Austin employee-owners, expending 492,060 work hours with a total recordable incident rate of 0.81. Austin's scope was valued at $24 million with overall project TIC valued at $53 million.
