Austin Industrial works directly with OSHA to promote safety and quality. As a major participant in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP), we currently have eight STAR-designated sites and numerous Special Government Employees (SGEs) who assist with the mentoring and auditing of potential VPP participants.

Austin Industrial has been involved with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) since 1991 when we began the challenge of attaining our first VPP Demonstration designation, which was awarded in 1993. Since then, Austin Industrial has achieved VPP designations on 14 projects – four Demonstration designations and nine Star designations.

VPP is designed to recognize and promote effective safety and health management on each jobsite and establish a cooperative relationship between management, labor and OSHA. Acceptance into the VPP is a rigorous process designed so only the best safety programs qualify. Austin Industrial was the first maintenance contractor to participate in OSHA’s VPP.

Austin Industrial’s most recently recognized Star site is The Lubrizol Corporation Deer Park, Texas site. The presentation ceremony, which included representatives from Lubrizol, OSHA and Austin took place on February 27, 2008.
