ABCC recognizes Austin Industrial employee-owner

Austin Industrial employee-owner, Alex Giffin, was named Craft Professional of 2010 by the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABCC) at the first ABCC safety conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He was awarded a plaque and a $500 American Express gift card by Tim Eldridge, ABCC vice president of workforce development.

Giffin works on the Augusta Services Company (ASCI) contract at the DSM Chemicals facility in Augusta, Georgia.  He started working with Austin seven years ago as a millwright apprentice and advanced through the apprentice program to become millwright senior maintenance technician, and is currently a mechanical equipment specialist at the Evergreen Nylon Recycle plant.

Giffin has no lost-time accidents or safety violations on his record.

Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABCC) is a chapter of National ABC representing members in North Carolina and South Carolina.  Austin was a founding member of ABCC in 1998.
