This five-story, 180,000 SF building includes an auditorium, electronic seminar room, cutting-edge laboratories, dining facilities and space for 300 graduate students and 58 professors. It rivals the world’s best academic and industrial research facilities. The telecommunications system is designed to support bandwidth-intensive research and changing technology, including advanced networks designed and contributed by Intel. It also includes “just in time” fiber and copper cabling systems, contributed by Lucent Technologies, as well as a separate generator system to provide increasing amounts of power and cooling for the building as needed.
