Austin Commercial converted approximately 18,000 SF of existing offi ce space in Building B, Service Level East to a data center for the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in San Antonio, Texas. This project included the remodel of the existing CSMT area, relocation of existing tenants into new work areas, remodel of approximately 18,000 SF of existing office/storage space on the P3 Level to mechanical/electrical space. The data center and adjacent support spaces were enclosed in walls/doors capable of withstanding an F-4 Tornado event. The data center includes normal and U.P.S. emergency power to support mechanical and electrical loads and systems. The mechanical system includes new 600 ton standby three stage, air-cooled chiller with pumps, piping, valves and heat exchanger to support the data center loads in case of failure of the building chilled water system, plus 16 Liebert CRAC Units within the Data Center.
