The Methodist Charlton New Bed Tower project is both an addition and expansion to the existing acute care hospital. This project included the demolition of the existing entry and the existing MOB I and construction of a new 286,000 square-foot, nine-story bed tower, which ties into the existing structure on three sides. The first four floors will be finished out with 72 patient rooms and associated support, 10 operating rooms, 20 bed PACU and ground floor lobby and support facilities including a cafe and chapel. The finished out space is approximately 155,000 square feet. There is also a 30,000 square foot renovation to take place once the bedtower is complete.
Methodist Charlton Bed Tower Expansion received a 2010 Healthcare Award of Excellence in Texas Contruction's Best of Texas Award program.
