This bed tower at JPS Hospital will feature 108 single occupant rooms, increasing the percentage of single occupancy rooms from 33 percent to 69 percent. Each floor will be comprised of 36 patient rooms acceptable for all types of critical and medical/surgery needs. Additionally, the admissions and pre-admit testing areas will afford privacy and one-stop processing features to facilitate access. The tower will feature separate entrances for inpatient care, outpatient care and a dedicated emergency entrance. The connecting skybridge will also work to increase efficiency by providing a connection to the main hospital over Main Street. Twelve new state-of-the-art operating rooms will serve inpatients and outpatients. The emergency department will feature eight ambulance bays and separate waiting area. To accommodate the increase in vehicles, a seven-story, 865-car parking garage is also included in the scope of the project.
