Green Initiative

Austin Commercial has been involved in the specialized construction of several high performance, sustainable LEED® projects across Texas.  Recent projects include Hunt Consolidated Headquarters (interior), AMD Lonestar (currently under construction, pictured right), Citigroup North Texas Expansion, Texas Instruments RFAB and Administration Building, McKinney Green Building and TCCD Downtown Campus. By 2010, Austin Commercial expects the following projects to be LEED certified: University of Texas at Austin Executive Conference Center, W Hotel in Austin and the City of Irving Conference and Event Center.

To strengthen Austin Commercial’s position as a leader in the green building sector, many of our offices are now offering test preparation and study sessions for the accreditation test. The exam covers six LEED credit categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials reuse, indoor environmental quality and innovation and design. Austin Commercial believes that as more of our employee-owners achieve certification, sustainable initiatives will become inherent in our business practice as well as each individual’s impact on the community.
