Austin Tops Contractor List
Austin Industries has reclaimed the number one position on Texas Construction’s 2010 list of Top Texas Contractors. With $1.44 billion of revenue in Texas, Austin Industries is the largest and among the oldest construction companies in Texas. Comprised of three operating companies – Austin Bridge & Road, Austin Commercial and Austin Industrial – Austin Industries leads the way in civil, commercial and industrial construction.

Among the projects contributing to the 2009 revenue figure were the Northeast Lakeview College (Alamo County College District) in San Antonio, Omni Fort Worth, Texas Health Dallas Hamon Tower, Methodist Charlton Bedtower Expansion and Methodist Hospital Sugar Land Medical Office Building constructed by Austin Commercial.
Austin Bridge & Road projects included the DART Blue Line in Rowlett, TX; IH 30 reconstruction in Texarkana, TX; IH 30/President George Bush Turnpike interchange construction project in Dallas County, TX; and the SH 121 improvement project in Lewisville, TX.
Austin Industrial projects included a catalyst unit for Abemarle Corporation in Bayport, Texas; refinery upgrades at Motiva in Port Arthur, Texas; and ongoing maintenance and material handling at six LyondellBasell facilities in Channelview, Bayport and LaPorte, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Austin ranked number one in the healthcare and hospitals categories and number three in the transportation category of Texas Construction’s Top Contractors list.
