Austin Commercial Completes Two iMRI BrainSUITEs

Austin Commercial has completed the construction and installation of two BrainSUITEs, one of the world’s most technologically advanced operating rooms for treating brain tumors. Austin Commercial has successfully completed these BrainSUITEs at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

BrainSUITE iMRI is a neurosurgical operating room fully integrating all the surgical and diagnostic tools needed to treat complicated neurosurgical cases. This suite optimizes brain surgery by combining image-guided surgery, inter-operative MRI (iMRI) and all relevant data management and visualization technology. These elements combined allow neurosurgeons to view images of the brain before, during and at the conclusion of the surgical procedure.

The BrainSUITE navigation system allows the surgeons to view the real-time intra-operative images in tandem with the spatial position of their instruments gaining a higher level of accuracy regarding location and amount of tissue removed. These images also help the surgeons determine more accurately if they have removed the appropriate amount of diseased tissue.
