The alignment for the Blue Line extension begins at the existing Downtown Garland Station, follows the old MKT Railroad right-of-way and continues eastward approximately 4.8 miles to the site of the new station adjacent to the existing Park and Ride lot in Rowlett. Existing ROW widths vary between 100 and 150 feet. The extension will be at grade double track and will include fencing or other physical barriers along the right of way for security purposes. Includes only one station and the alignment extends beyond the new station. Minority participation goal is 42%.
