Employee-owner Celebrates 40 Years at Austin

Thank you, Johnny Webb, for 40 years with Austin. On August 29, 2007, Webb, a superintendent with the company, celebrated his 40th year with Austin Bridge & Road. “I was 19 years old when I started working for Austin, ” he said. “Back then, they hired people right on the spot, not even a physical was required. I worked as a swamper’ for a haul truck. A swamper was the helper for the haul truck. I did whatever the driver didn't want to do. “The thing I love about Austin is that if you want to advance your career all you have to do is perform your job to your highest ability and let someone know that you want more responsibility. It's a company of opportunity. Over the years, I have come to see Austin Bridge & Road as a part of my family. It's been a great 40 years.” Austin Bridge & Road has five employee-owners with more than 40 years with the company. They include: Randall English, Milburn Estell, Harry Farmer, Pablo Salinas and Johnny Webb.
