Austin Selected as Best Value Contractor for CPS Project

Austin Bridge & Road was awarded $47.4 million project with City Public Service Energy (CPS Energy) in San Antonio that includes the construction of two bridges over Calaveras Lake, totaling 4,107 feet in length. The lake bridges will be built utilizing barges. The project also includes the construction of four other bridges over land, including a structural steel railroad bridge over US 181. Proposers for this project were evaluated by the owner based on many factors, including bid price, schedule, qualifications, experience and project team. The initial proposal landed Austin Bridge & Road on the owner's short list. Austin then interviewed with CPS and later submitted a Best And Final Offer at CPS' request. In late July, the CPS Energy board of directors approved awarding the project to Austin Bridge & Road.
