Austin Bridge & Road Employee-owner Knocks Kindness Out of the Park
Jeff Cormican shares Texas Rangers experience
Austin Bridge & Road employee-owner Jeff Cormican and his wife Brondwyn love to give back when ever they can. As a baseball fan, Cormican was at a Rangers game and could not resist making his guess of when Sammy Sosa would get his 600th home run. He simply filled out a ticket at a booth which lead to him being able to take an entire little league out to the ball game.
“Later that week, the Texas Rangers called and said I had guessed the right game and inning and had won $400 worth of Rangers tickets along with $200 worth of captains cash,” said Cormican.
The giving person that Cormican is, his first thought was ‘who can I give these to.’ With the help of Eric Johnson, XXXX, and Misti Mitteis, market development manager, they found a little league of children with Down syndrome and found a night that could accommodated for the team and their families to be together. It was a group of 40 and he gave each of the parents $10 of Rangers captains cash that was used for snacks and drinks.
“I have to say, it is just the best feeling to see the looks on the kid’s faces,” Cormican said. “That is why my wife and I love to do this.”
Jeff and Brondwyn are participate in other charities and volunteering opportunities such as their church and Habitat for Humanity.
