Austin Bridge & Road is committed to providing a safe work environment and the training necessary to work safely. Our company consistently exceeds OSHA standards in keeping work sites and people safe.
Austin Bridge & Road’s safety program encompasses the following:
Experience
Austin Bridge & Road has a staff of safety professionals to ensure safe work environments and practices on all job sites. All new employee-owners wear unique green hard hats to identify them so they may be monitored and mentored in safety practices.
Preparation
Austin Bridge & Road staff takes continuous measures to be prepared for all situations. Safety execution plans are prepared for all projects to identify and manage safety risks. Safety professionals from all Austin Industries’ operations meet monthly to share best practices for the continual improvement of safety programs. Austin Bridge & Road mandates that all employee-owners work free of drugs that may impair reactions. All employee-owners are drug tested. Additionally, Austin Bridge & Road partners with local medical facilities to assure the best treatment possible in the event of an injury.
Incentives
Austin Bridge & Road employee-owners participate in a safety recognition program administered by the company’s Safety Performance Improvement Council. Performance is rewarded with quarterly incentives.
Training
An ongoing, formal training program involving all Austin Bridge & Road employee-owners includes:
- OSHA 10-hour safety course
- Weekly toolbox safety meetings
- Department of Transportation flagger and other specialized industry training
- Training and testing of all crane operators
- Training on environmental requirements
In addition, safety professionals and staff members make continual visits to our jobsites to ensure that all employee-owners successfully implement this training during each workday.
