Austin Asphalt is an industry leader in asphalt production for the state of Texas. We provide a quality product, as well as unparalleled customer service at a competitive price.
Austin Asphalt is a proud member of both the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA) and Association of General Contractors (AGC). We proudly serve TxDOT, NTTA, and multiple municipalities in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
We specialize in dense-graded hot-mix asphalt (HMA), dense-graded warm-mix asphalt (WMA), and Superpave asphalt mix. Both dense-graded and Superpave asphalt mix can be used as a base course, intermediate course, or surface course.
Our dense-graded mix tends to be the most cost-effective option, but Superpave has advantages due to its longer lasting asphalt pavements.
In addition to both dense-graded and Superpave mixes, we also produce specialty surface mixes:
• Stone-Matrix Asphalt (SMA)
• Permeable Friction Course (PFC)
• Ultra-Thin Bonded Friction Course (UTB)
• Thin Overlay Mix (TOM)
• Airport Runway Mix (P401/P403)
For additional information and advantages of both our standard and specialty mixes, please visit our partners at TXAPA.
Austin’s mix was used at DFW International Airport on runway 17C and is the first asphalt surface runway in DFW history.
Asphalt is 100% reusable, making it the most reused and recycled product in the U.S. About 80 million tons of asphalt pavement are reclaimed each year, with nearly 100% of that total being recycled.2
Asphalt binder is recycled from old pavements and roofing shingles, which replace more than 21 million barrels of oil per year. This saves American taxpayers more than $2.2 billion annually!3
Recycled materials in asphalt pavements such as Recycled Asphalt Shingles (RAS) and Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) save about 50 million cubic yards of landfill space each year.4
The EPA determined that emissions from asphalt plants are not a major source of air pollution. While odors may emanate from an asphalt plant on occasion, they are not dangerous to plant personnel, nor surrounding communities.
For pricing, orders and technical assistance for all plants, email Pat Tinsley or Steve Waczak at AsphaltSales@Austin-Ind.com or fill out the web form and we will respond as soon as possible.
